Neelkanth Mahadev Temple

An ancient Shiva temple nestled in the Garhwal hills at 1,330 metres, marking the spot where Lord Shiva drank the cosmic poison during Samudra Manthan. The scenic drive through dense forests is half the experience. Hot sulfur springs near the temple are worth a stop.

Kunjapuri Temple (Sunrise)

A pre-dawn drive to this Shakti Peeth at 1,676 metres rewards you with one of the most spectacular sunrises in Uttarakhand. Watch the Himalayan peaks — Chaukhamba, Banderpunch, Swargarohini, and Gangotri ranges — turn golden as the sun rises. A transformative, must-do Rishikesh experience.

Neer Garh Waterfall

5 km from Lakshman Jhula

A refreshing two-tier waterfall just a short ride from town, followed by a pleasant trek through forest paths. The waterfall cascades into natural pools perfect for a dip. Best visited after monsoon when the water flow is at its peak. A quick escape from the spiritual intensity of Rishikesh.
